Creating a better future with innovation Empowerment of women changes society

Through industry-government-academia co-creation and the partnerships with the National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition (NIBIOHN); Daikin Industries, and Osaka University, a rotation-based training system for women researchers (Circular Development Program) was created; which offers a diverse and developmental career path program for women researchers in the natural sciences. This system is expected to spread throughout the region and, with Osaka University leading the charge in research environment diversity, contribute to the creation of social value by establishing connections to research institutes and corporations for women researchers to thrive.

Circular Development Program

Together with the National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition; Daikin Industries, and Osaka University, the Osaka Council for Collaboration to Promote Gender Equality was established in 2016. These organizations and industries collaborated with Osaka University as Joint Research Chairs and Research Alliance Laboratories on campus, then further branched out to a Center for Circular Development for Women Researchers in the natural sciences.

The goal of the academic year of 2019-2020 is to create this type of research medium and, at the same time, create a Women’s Career Development Association for women researchers in 2021, and with the procurement of matching funds, continue to develop our women in research.
